Special fixed Rate / August 2018

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia announces special rate for the month of August 2018. We have a new website www.rbc-institute.org we just launched, and to celebrate we are offering a fixed rate for anyone who has viewed both this site and that one prior to the 10th of August.

The fixed rate if you register on this page using the registration form is $100 for the class, and $50 to proctor the exam only for persons who can prove they have taken the ServSafe@ Manager course before. 

After August 10th the fixed rate will be $136 and $86 with the same proof of re-certification. To take advantage of this fixed rate program you must register and pay any invoice sent to you for that rate prior to selected class. 

You may select a class day or date anytime we have a class scheduled remaining in the calendar year of 2018. Listed on this site you can scroll through a list of scheduled classes.

Spanish ServSafe Classes /Coming soon & changes to VA law.

The  Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, VA announces new ServSafe@ Manager classes in Spanish every month through Dec 2018. These classes will be held the last workday of each month starting June 29, 2018 at  CIC / office, in the Citizens Commonwealth Center, 300 Preston Ave, Charlottesville, VA. 22903.

"Foodborne illness and alcohol-related problems are major threats to your businesses and customers. That's why the National Restaurant Association (NRA) created ServSafe@ programs nearly 40 years ago. This is a direct quote from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation,  "The Most Respected Training and Certification Source in the Industry".

There are changes coming in the law for "Certified Food Protection Manager requirement effective July 1, 2018. Under 12VAC5-421-55 of the Virginia Food Regulations, all food establishments, including temporary food establishments (TFEs), are required to have a certified food protection manager no later than July 1, 2018. Certain establishments may be exempt based on their menu and processes".

Our ServSafe@ Manager Food Safety class is a one day (8) hour class with the online exam given at the end of the day. Certificates are available the same day, but must be renewed in five years. Students are asked to bring their own laptop, however one will be provided for you.

Richmond dates / "Coming Soon"

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia announcing very soon the dates for our ServSafe@ Manager Food Safety Classes in Richmond every month through December 2018.

We received the royal treatment at the Richmond Downtown Marriott, so we are even more excited about coming back to the City every month.

However, this time we are going to be checking out the all new Courtyard by Marriott /Richmond. In the historic section of the City of Richmond this will be a real treat, and place to see the sights and eat great food.

Two of the Courtyard employees were in our last class, so we are looking forward to completing our mission on have all of the Management and the Executive Chef Certified and all up to date on their ServSafe@ Certifications. Announcing: ServSafe@ Class / 3rd weekend every month at Roanoke Courtyard /Airport

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia would like to announce the schedule for classes in Roanoke every month through the end of the year.

On the third Monday of each month starting, Monday, May 14, 2018, 9-6 pm we will have class serving the Roanoke Valley at the Courtyard by Marriott, Roanoke Airport, 3301 Ordway Dr, Roanoke, VA 24017.

You are not officially enrolled until final payment is received to secure your place in a class, however you can pay in advance to reserve a place up to six months.

ServSafe Classes / Roanoke / April 2018

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia announces Servsafe@ Manager Food Safety Classes starting in Roanoke, Va on Monday, April 2, 2018.

The class are 9am -6pm, and the exam is online given at the end of the day. The classes will be held each month at the Courtyard by Marriott /Roanoke Airport location, 3301 Ordway Dr NW, Roanoke, VA 24017. The ServSafe@ exam results are available the same day, certificates must be renewed every 5 years.

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia announces final class for January 2018 is full, and can not accept any more applications.

This class will be at the Country Inn & Suites, 1600 Emmet Street, Charlottesville, Va on Jan 30th, from 9 am to 6pm. All persons enrolled in the class are encouraged to bring their own laptops for the online exam at the end of the day, however if you don't have one we will provide one for you.

Lynchburg: ServSafe Class Cancelled due to Snow /Jan 18

The Center for faith-based and community learning located in Charlottesville, Virginia announces that our class at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Lynchburg has been cancelled due to severe weather
conditions of snow and freezing in the entire area.

Our next class in Charlottesville will be at the Country Inn & Suites, 1600 Emmet Street, North, on Tuesday, Jan 30, 2018.

This is one of Charlottesville's newest hotel properties, so you might want to book a room and stay for a hot breakfast in the morning.
